Tarvarus McFadden is a highly rated prospect out of Florida State that could be selected as a top ten pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Size and length have gotten Florida State’s Tavarus McFadden known as one of the top play making cornerbacks in the entire country. He has the potential to be the first corner taken in the draft. However, if he can’t prove that he has the top speed to keep from getting beat deep or show the willingness to support the run than he could drop to the 20-32 range as a later first round pick.
He has an extremely rare set of skills for a corner when it comes to making plays on the ball. He uses his arm length to high point the ball and disrupt multiple passes. Last year he hauled in eight interceptions and batted away six more. He is one of those ball hawking corners that many defensive coaches look for.
McFadden’s ball skills are not going to make him a sure fire top ten pick. His lack of elite speed and his lack of run support will hurt his stock. How much it will hurt remains to be seen and McFadden has all of 2017 improve on these skills. Regardless McFadden is a fun player to watch and should contribute to plenty of highlights this year.
