Scouting Report: Akil Bordelon

Concord University
Safety
5’9” 185

  • Played at every position in the defensive backfield
  • Good lateral movement
  • Consistently tackled in the open field
  • Had wasted steps in coverage
  • Size will be a big question

Akil Bordelon was all over the field when he played for Concord University. His senior year he totaled 68 tackles and six interceptions. He had a knack of always being around the play.

In coverage, he was aggressive in hitting receivers right as the ball got to them. He did a good job playing the ball and not the receivers.

Bordelon is fighting an uphill battle but has done everything right so far this off-season. He’s talked with some NFL teams, earned a tryout with a CFL team, and signed with an agent. His size will be a question along with his level of competition but earning an early tryout with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers could be a good sign for Bordelon moving forward this NFL Draft season.
